Mamie Joe "Joey" (Oglesby)

Joey has the Madden blue eyes and she related that an eye doctor even remarked about their color.

Joey went to school in Port Lavaca when the Port O'Connor school was burned down by some of the boys in the town. She would stay there during the week and come home on weekends. Mary Belle Boucher Meitzer's (Chair of the Calhoun County Historical Commission) was her school teacher.

She lived in Del Rio for 27 years. She worked as the office manager for a CPA firm. When she retired she moved back to Port O'Connor with the help of her sons, Steve and Keith.

She and Blanks Oglesby were married in November, 1944. Their children are Carol, Steve and Keith. They were later divorced. He never remaried. He had a stroke and lived in a nursing home for his last 15 years.

She later married Les Lamb in 1982.

She loves to cook and collects recipes. She always has filet minion for Christmas meal. She loves horses and the family has raised racehorses for many years. They take their horses to Louisiana to race. Steve worked for a stable in Houston then for a vet. The family lived in the Parkdale subdivision in Sugar Land for seven years and the Keith went to Alief Schools. Carol and Steve went to Ft. Bend Schools and graduated from John Foster Dulles High.
